About
Hi, I'm Emma and I have been making costumes professionally for the Entertainment and Theatre industry for over 10 years after finishing a Masters degree in Design at Lincoln University, specialising in Fashion and Costume.
Since then, I have worked predominantly in Theatre, making costumes for performers in plays and musicals. Highlights of my Theatre career include working on many productions with Hull Truck Theatre and other reputable Theatre Companies including Leeds Playhouse, The RSC and York Theatre Royal.
Career highlights include The Borrowers (Hull Truck Theatre, 2024), The Hypocrite (Hull Truck Theatre and RSC, 2017), A Christmas Carol (Leeds Playhouse, 2020 and 2018) and Richard III (Northern Broadsides, 2017). Other projects have consisted of several Pantomimes for Imagine Theatre, a National Tour with a stage adaptation of Heartbeat and making costumes for the West end production of Strictly Ballroom.
Over recent years, I have made costumes for the entertainment teams for TUI Holiday Villages across Europe and for Unity Holiday resorts in the UK.
I have also worked on set for TV productions including Ripper Street (BBC), Victoria (ITV), Outlander (Amazon) and The English Game (Netflix).
I have worked backstage on multiple shows and have taken on different roles within the Wardrobe department including dressing, costume maintenance and wardrobe management. I have recently been using this experience and my sewing skills for bands and artists for their concerts across the UK including: Madonna, Pink, Rod Stewart, Coldplay and Blue.
I also take on bespoke work for private clients and I'm open to commissions of all kinds, including weddings, special events and everyday garments.
